SecureScan X-Mini is a portable scanner for Passports and ID cards, SecureScan X-Mini can capture and verify relevant data of all international passports, plastic ID cards and other documents. It simplifies Passport Scanning and MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) Data Extraction.

Installing Drivers

Connect the scanner to the computer.


Download and run your product's software package from the vendor's website (https://plustek.com/sea/products/customized-scan-modules/securescan-x-mini/support.phpor use the driver CD included with the device.


After the computer is restarted, you will be prompted to perform the scanner calibration.

Calibration sheet comes with the device; find the sheet in the device package.


Place the special calibration sheet into the scanner with the printed side up, then click Calibration button.


After the calibration is completed, please remove the calibration sheet then click Exit button.

Scanning

Once the Calibration process complete, place your scanning  document on the scanning surface 


When the scanning procedure is over, the scanner will beep once and the scan indicator will blink once. A new secure scan utility window will open in the system display with the scanning document.


For ID card scan, click the  to display the front-side and click the  to display the  rear-side. All the images are saved under the SecureScan Doc folder on the desktop by default.




If there any clarity issues or scanned image is different from the original, what's the solution?
Solution
  1. Clean the scanning surface using a glass cleaner solution and a microfibre cloth.
  2. Right-click the  SecureScan icon in the system tray, and select Calibration from the pop-up menu to calibrate the scanner.
