Plustek Scanner S602 scanning issue
Several users have reported that the Plustek Scanner S602 occasionally produces scanned documents with visible lines. In most cases, these lines appear consistently across the output document.
The root cause is typically dust or adhesive residue accumulating on the scanner slit glass. Some documents may contain glue or sticky substances that transfer onto the scanner lens during the scanning process, resulting in line artifacts on subsequent scans.
Resolution
This issue can be easily resolved by the customer within five minutes without requiring a warranty claim. Cleaning the slit glass using a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with a non-abrasive cleaning solution (or isopropyl alcohol) will remove the dust or residue and restore normal scan quality.
Cleaning SlitGlass in Plustek S602
Open the Back cover by removing the screws from the backside.
Open the scanner and carefully detach any internal data cables before gaining access to the slit glass. On the surface of the slit glass, there might be dust or glue.
After removing the Slit Glass module from the scanner, use lens cleaner or Glass or LCD cleaner to clean the glass surface. Isopropyl alcohol can also be used but can leave streaks. Dampen a soft, lint-free, or microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol (or, alternatively, use isopropyl alcohol wipes) to clean your equipment. Spraying directly on the device is not recommended.
Gently wipe down the surface and ensure that the glass is clear of all scratches and dust.
After everything has been thoroughly cleaned, fix the module and the data cables with care before securing the scanner's back cover.
Once everything has been cleaned and put together, scan a document to make sure the problem has been fixed.
