Ways to Update Mikrotik Devices

How to update Mikrotik Device

There are 3 ways to update your mikrotik device
  1. Update from prompt
  2. Manually Update
  3. NetInstaller

1. Update from Prompt

  1. Go to the winbox( device configuration tool)
  2. Connect with IP/MAC and login with credentials 
  3. Go to System > Packages > Check for Update > Check for update > select version > click on OK


2. Manually Update

  1. Go to Mikrotik website, search with device using P/N
  2. Open the "Support & Downloads" tab
  3. Find the latest RouterOS and download it

  1. Go to the winbox
  2. Files > Upload > select downloaded RouterOS and click open


  1. Now reboot the device
  2. System > Reboot


3. NetInstaller

  1. Follow the instruction https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Netinstall
