Export Control for NVDIA GPUs
The Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) is
part of the U.S. export control regulations that apply to certain advanced
computing items, including some of NVIDIA’s products. This classification is
used to identify items that require specific export licenses due to their
potential use in sensitive applications.

Systems: Any systems incorporating these integrated circuits, such as NVIDIA DGX
and HGX systems, are also covered
- Performance Thresholds: The
classification applies to products that exceed certain performance
thresholds. These thresholds are defined by the U.S. Department of
Commerce and are designed to control the export of items that could be
used in advanced computing and AI applications.
- Export Restrictions: The U.S. government has imposed additional licensing requirements for exporting these items to certain countries, including China and other specified groups. A full list of the restricted countries can be found in Supplement_1 to part 740 of the US Export Administration regulations specifically those countries marked as D:1 D:4 and D:5 (but note that this excludes Israel and Cyprus).
