Configure Date & Time on ASUS HGX Servers via ASMB11-iKVM (BMC)

Purpose

This article explains how to configure and synchronize the Date & Time on ASUS HGX servers using the ASMB11‑iKVM (BMC) interface. This ensures that all HGX servers synchronize their time with the NTP servers configured on Head Node 1 and Head Node 2.

Scope

  • ASUS HGX servers

Prerequisites

  • BMC IP address reachable from the management network

  • Admin credentials 

  • Primary and secondary NTP server IPs (configured on Head Node 1 and Head Node 2)

Procedure

Step 1: Log in to BMC

  1. Open a browser and navigate to the BMC IP address of the HGX server.

  2. Log in using administrator credentials.


Step 2: Navigate to Date & Time Settings

  1. From the left navigation pane, click Settings.

  2. Select Date & Time from the settings menu.


Step 3: Configure Time Zone and NTP Servers

  1. Scroll down and select the appropriate Time Zone (example: Asia/Dubai).

  2. Enable Automatic NTP Date & Time and Configure the NTP servers as follows: 

    1. Primary NTP Server: IP address of Head Node 1

    2. Secondary NTP Server: IP address of Head Node 2

    3. Click Save.



Step 4: Post Configuration

  1. When prompted that the session will close, click OK to proceed.

  2. Close the browser session as instructed.


Step 5: Reconnect and Verify

  1. Reopen a new browser session.

  2. Log back in to the BMC.

  3. Navigate to Settings --> Date & Time.

  4. Verify:

    • Time zone is correct

    • NTP is enabled

    • Time is synchronized correctly
