Software Defined Storage Solution with OSNEXUS

Software-defined unified storage represents a powerful evolution in storage technology, offering flexibility, scalability, and centralized management. This article briefly explores the concept of software-defined unified storage and its deployment options.

Software-defined unified storage combines storage virtualization, management, and data services into a single platform. It abstracts storage resources from physical hardware, allowing administrators to manage diverse storage types (block, file, and object) through a unified interface. This approach simplifies storage provisioning, improves resource utilization, and enhances data accessibility across different applications and workloads.

OSNEXUS’s QuantaStor delivers both scale-up and scale-out in a single platform and offers unified file, block, and object storage. Its Storage Grid Technology greatly reduces the complexity of cluster management by combining storage appliances together across public and private clouds to manage all of the components as one.

Scale out Solution

Scale-out storage clusters aggregate storage from multiple storage appliances to form a single namespace. These configurations simplify scaling capacity and performance using erasure coding technology.

Scale up solution

Scale-up storage clusters provide highly available SAN/NAS storage designed around a two-server cluster model using SAS & NL-SAS shared storage from JBODs/JBOFs. Below Diagram shows connectivity of a typical Sclae up storage cluster.

OSNEXUS Licensing

QuantaStor platform licenses are available for subscription durations of one year, three years, and five years. These subscription licenses encompass comprehensive support, maintenance, upgrades, and the flexibility to transfer to new hardware. Subscriptions lasting three years or more include perpetual license keys for the original license holder. Pricing for QuantaStor licenses is based on the raw storage capacity of each storage appliance. QuantaStor High Availability (HA) technology is provided at no additional charge. All features are encompassed within Enterprise Edition licenses across all support tiers (Silver, Gold, and Platinum).
