ASUS Server Testing Workflow – MBUZZ Service Center
This document outlines the mandatory steps to be completed before submitting any ASUS server to the QC department. All engineers must strictly follow these procedures to ensure consistency, reliability, and compliance with MBUZZ service standards.

1. Assembly
Guidelines
- Maintain proper ESD protection at all times before handling any components.
- Avoid mishandling. Keep all components in ESD‑safe trays or bags when not in use.
- Review the vendor user manual for the specific server model before assembly.
After completing assembly:
- Ensure air ducts, cables, and retention brackets are properly secured.
- Verify all components (CPU, RAM, SSDs, RAID cards, GPUs, NICs) are firmly seated.
Post‑Assembly Setup
- Place the server in the Service Center rack.
- Connect:
- MGMT port → for IPMI access
- LAN1 → for OS installation or network testing
2. BIOS & BMC Firmware Update
Initial Steps
- Power on the server.
- Ensure MGMT and LAN ports are connected.
- Set up the IPMI if DHCP isn't turned on.

- Log in to IPMI using:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
- On first login, IPMI will require a password change.
- Set the new password to: Password
- Re‑login using the updated credentials.
Firmware Verification & Update
- Check the current BIOS and BMC/IPMI firmware versions.
If outdated:
- Power off the server.
- Update IPMI firmware first.
- Update BIOS
- Navigate to:
- Maintenance → Firmware Update
- Maintenance → BIOS Update
- Upload the latest IPMI firmware package and proceed with the update.
3. BIOS & IPMI Component Detection Screenshots
Capture the Following Screens
- BIOS main page (showing CPU, RAM, BIOS version)
- Hardware information pages (memory population, NIC's, CPU's, RAID cards)
- Storage configuration (NVMe/SATA detection)
- IPMI dashboard (BMC version, FRU details, sensor status (capture full sensor detail), inventory (CPU, memory, PSU, drive bays, GPUs))
These screenshots serve as evidence of correct component detection before stress testing.
4. ASUS HPL Test (CPU Stress Test)
Platform Coverage
- AMD Platforms → Run ASUS HPL for AMD
- Intel Platforms → Run ASUS HPL for Intel
Requirements
- Ensure the test runs for the required duration (as per MBUZZ standards).
- Monitor:
- CPU temperature
- Power consumption
- Error logs
- Save the HPL result logs for documentation.

5. GPU Stress Test
- GPU Stress Test Options:
- GPU Burn
- ASUS GPU Stress Test
When to Use Which Tool
- High‑end GPUs (L40s, RTX 6000 Ada, H100, H200, etc.)
(Use GPU Burn for maximum thermal and stability pressure.) - Entry‑level to high‑end GPUs (L40s, RTX 6000 Ada, H100, H200, etc.):
(Use ASUS GPU Stress Test for vendor‑optimized testing.)
GPU Validation
- Use GPU Burn to stress test all installed GPUs.
- Run the test for the required duration.
- Monitor:
- GPU temperature
- Fan speed
- ECC errors (if applicable)
- Save GPU burn logs and screenshots.

6. Testing Documentation
Mandatory Documentation Includes
- Assembly checklist
- Firmware versions (before & after update)
- BIOS & IPMI screenshots
- HPL test logs
- GPU burn logs
- Any additional observations or corrective actions
All documentation must be stored in the customer’s project folder.
7. Submission to QC Department
Final Handover
- Ensure all tests are completed and documented.
- Verify that the server is clean, properly assembled, and labeled.
- Submit the server along with the documentation pack to the QC team for final validation.
