How to enable the Microsoft Authenticator app - Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)

Method 1

  1. Download & install the Microsoft Authenticator app to your mobile device.


  2. Install the Authenticator app on your mobile.
  3. Sign in to your account security dashboard.
  4. Select Add a new way to sign in or verify and choose Use an app.
  5. If you’ve already installed the app, select Next to display a QR code appear on the screen.


  6. In the authenticator app, select [three dots] then + Add account.
    * Choose Work or school account  --> Scan a QR code


  7. Choose the account type and select Scan a QR code.


  8. Scan the code shown on the screen 
  9. Select Finish on the PC to complete the setup

Method 2

  1. Navigate to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/
  2. Select "Security info" from left side menu 
  3. Click on "+ Add Sign-in method"
  4. Choose a method from drop down list
  5. Follow the method one for Authenticator app or Continue to others method, provide the necessary details and verify

  6. Select Finish on the PC to complete the setup
