Initial Troubleshooting Steps When Server Power Socket Is Getting Yellow Light/Red Light.

Power Socket

Power Socket is the point on server where the power cable is plugged in. These sockets are part of the server's power supply unit (PSU) and are essential for delivering electrical power to the server.

Server with different colored lights besides power supply typically indicate the status of the power supplies.

  1. Green Light: Power socket is functioning properly and  is providing power to the server. 
  2. Yellow Light: There is an issue with power supply or Indicates a warning .Problem that needs attention.
  3. Red Light: This indicates that power supply is having a critical fault or failure.

Initial trouble shooting steps when it is getting Red light/Yellow Light.

  1. Check Connections: Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to the power supply unit (PSU) and to the power source.
  2. Inspect the Power Supply: If the power supply has an on/off switch, make sure it is in the "on" position. Check for any visible signs of damage or overheating.
  3. Monitor Server Logs: Check the server’s event logs, check for any error messages or warnings related to the power supply.
  4. Swap Power Cables: Try using a different power cable to rule out a faulty cable.
