1. Is it possible to get a list of all EOL models in the Supermicro Website? Or is there any list that you can share on a periodic basis? 

Ans.
 Supermicro don’t have such list available to share.  They can provide the information on a case-to-case basis from their internal system based on the PN provided. Below table contains EOL part details based on supermicro feedback we received based on our previous requests. This list can be updated on a periodic basis.

2. Explain Supermicro Standard Warranty terms?

EWCSC  0% 3 YRS LABOR, 3 YRS PARTS, 1 YR CRS UNDER LIMITED WRNTY
Supermicro provides a three-year warranty for labor and parts one-year warranty for cross shipping. https://www.supermicro.com/en/support/warranty

3. Can we purchase parts warranty and support services separately?
Ans.
Supermicro don’t have such option. Warranty & support must be the same period.

4. What is Supermicro Digital media retention services?
Ans.
The Supermicro Digital Media Retention (DMR) service allows our customers to keep their storage media if it is defective and requires replacement while under Supermicro systems service plan. With this DMR service, customers can maintain control of their sensitive and confidential data and dispose of the defective media in accordance with their internal security standards.

5. What are Supermicro’s “Complete System only” SKUs?
Ans.
To maintain quality and integrity, these products are sold only as a completely assembled system (with minimum mentioned components). In some cases, Service: OSNBD3 is highly recommended. These SKUs can be identified by looking at the title as shown in the screenshot.


6. What are the available NVMe RAID options in supermicro?
Ans.
  1. Supreme RAID (GRAID): SupremeRAID™ is a GPU-accelerated RAID software that maximizes storage performance by offloading processing from the CPU. It supports PCIe Gen 3, 4, and 5 technologies and is compatible with both Linux and Windows systems. With a single card, it delivers up to 28M IOPS and 260GB/s, supporting up to 32 NVMe drives. The GRAID requires to have a GPU in the system.  Also, the TDP of selected CPU must be 290W or less. Refer the supported TDP information by the server model while selecting a CPU
  2. Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC): Intel® VROC is an enterprise RAID solution that enhances NVMe SSD performance using Intel® Volume Management Device (VMD) in Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. It eliminates the need for traditional hardware RAID cards, offering improved efficiency without the added complexity, cost, and power consumption.
7. How to quote BF3 NICs in servers?
Ans.
NVIDIA BlueField (BF3) NICs are currently not in configurator portal. We can request manually in the order comments

8. What are the alternatives to export-controlled GPUs?
Ans.
  1. L40 – Alternative for L40S
  2. RTX 5880 ADA – Alternative for RTX 6000 ADA (not Sold from SMC

10. What is the typical lead time of Supermicro Systems?
Ans.
  1. 8-12 Weeks for fully assembled servers
  2. Individual components/Barebones – SMC keeps very limited stock of individual items.  Priority is for fully assembled systems. Lead time is estimated 8 – 10 weeks if stock is not available.
11. SMC Quote Validity
Ans.
Any quotes more than 2 weeks would have to be revalidated for latest prices before committing any final prices.
Currently, MEM and HDD/SSD prices change every month.  Any quote over one month has to be revalidated.

12. AIOM vs AOC & compatibility
Ans.
  1. The Supermicro® Advanced I/O Module (AIOM) is the latest form factor designed to provide a wide range of networking options and other I/O technologies for server, storage and IoT systems. AOC is the traditional formfactor that uses standard PCI slots available on the motherboard.

13. Export Controlled GPU system terms
Ans.
  1. GPUs which are listed in the restricted list requires an export license before shipped.
  2. Lead time is estimated around 24 weeks from the date we get the US Export Licenses approval.
  3. The US export Licenses must be approved before the PO can be processed.
  4. Full details about end customer are required before accepting the PO

15. Do supermicro offer 256GB Memory modules?
Ans.
There is no 256GB RAM from supermicro as of today

16. What’s OS Nexus Solution offered from Supermicro?
Ans.
Supermicro and OENEXUS offer an integrated file, block, and object storage solution that can easily scale-up and scale-out and unifies security enforcement and storage management across clusters and sites, to help organizations overcome these critical challenges.
  1. The quote from supermicro will have the OS Nexus Licenses included
  2. Everything is done by Supermicro.  OSNexus will be preloaded on the Head Nodes
  3. Support Case can be opened directly with OSNexus support. If the issue is HW related, they will direct you to open the case with Supermicro to get the RMA.
  4. SMC cannot ship JBOD without drives. This is a complete integrated solution
17. Whether Supermicro provide server rearview drawings with custom NIC configurations?
Ans.
SMC does not offer server rear panel drawings with custom NIC configurations. Instead, we can check with them for NIC-PCI slot mapping while ordering the system
