KB 649001 - Logitech USB Headphone Working Issue with ASUS Laptops
Recently, several ASUS users have reported issues with certain Logitech USB headset models, particularly on systems running Windows 11 Pro 23H2. While a fresh Windows installation and driver update can resolve the issue, this approach is not ideal as it erases user data.
However, this issue can be effectively addressed by disabling audio enhancement in system settings and following these steps:
Disable Audio Enhancements:
Navigate to the sound settings, select the audio device, and disable audio enhancements.
System-Sound-Speakers(logitech Headset) - Audio enhancement: turn off ( from Default setting to OFF)
Disable Audio Enhancements:
- Connect the Headphones: Plug the Logitech headphones into a USB port.
- Access Sound Settings:
- Open the Control Panel or go to Settings > System > Sound in Windows.
- Select the Audio Device: Under Sound Settings, select the audio device associated with the Logitech headset.
- Open Device Properties: Click on Device Properties (or Properties in older Windows versions).
- Disable Enhancements:
- Go to the Audio Enhancements tab.
- Check the box for OFF (disable all enhancements) or uncheck any active enhancements.
- Apply Changes: Click Apply, then OK to save the changes.
- Repeat for Each USB Port:
- Disconnect the headphones and reconnect them to another USB port.
- Follow the same steps to ensure the settings are applied for every individual USB port.
- By applying these steps to all USB ports, you ensure consistent functionality of the headphones across the system.
If the Above Steps Do Not Resolve the Issue, Follow These Additional Steps:
Update
BIOS and Windows:
Ensure the system BIOS and Windows are updated to
the latest versions.
Install
drivers from the ASUS website:
Download and install the appropriate
drivers for your system from the official ASUS support website.
Verify
Driver Details:
Check the installed driver details in the Device
Manager to confirm proper installation.
Disable Audio Enhancements:
Navigate to the sound settings, select the audio device, and OFF audio enhancements if you find in Device default effect mode.
System-Sound-Speakers(logitech Headset) - Audio enhancement: turn off (from device default effect to OFF)
Restart
the system:
Restart the computer to apply the changes and verify the
fix.
By following these steps, the issue can be resolved effectively while preserving user data.
