Asus ESC4000A-E12 server Boot up issue
Server hangs during Asus ESC4000A-E12 Server initial Boot after upgrade
Observation
During the upgrade process of Asus server model ESC4000A-E12, it was observed that the server hangs displaying the Asus logo. It also a POST Error "15" as shown in the images below.
Information for ASUS TAC
To resolve the identified issue, a case was registered with ASUS TAC for which the following information has to be provided to them:
- Server Model
- Server Serial Number
- BIOS version
- IPMI information
- System Hardware / Specification / Add-on details
- Operating System
- Detailed Description of the problem.
Information from ASUS
ASUS responded to the TAC case via email with the server's initial boot time and model specification.
Test
ASUS support team confirmed that the initial boot up of this server model could take up to 20 minutes.
This was tested by allowing the server to boot process after the upgrade which took around 20 minutes as informed by ASUS support team.
Conclusion
The initial observation regarding the delay in server boot process is not an issue but as informed by Asus is a normal behavior of this server model.
