Is it possible to format SSD from BIOS?

Formatting an SSD directly from the BIOS is not possible, as BIOS/UEFI does not include tools for formatting drives. However, some modern BIOS/UEFI setups include secure erase options, although many do not. Secure Erase or Media Sanitization from BIOS/UEFI helps in securely erasing data from a storage device.
Press the appropriate key to enter BIOS/UEFI setup. Common keys include F2, DEL, ESC, or F10. The specific key should be displayed during the initial boot screen.
Navigate to Storage or Security Settings:
- Look for sections related to storage, security, or hard drive management. This varies by manufacturer.
- Some BIOS/UEFI interfaces, particularly on newer systems, may have a "Secure Erase" option.
Choose the drive we want to sanitize/erase.
Select method type as "clear"
Click on "Start this device sanitization"
Progress of erasing will be shown
Click on OK after completion

- After the sanitization process is complete, save any changes (if applicable) and exit the BIOS/UEFI setup.
