EnGenius Access Point Firmware Update to Support FIT Controller
Certain versions of EWS series APs can have their firmware updated to work with an EnGenius FIT controller. To check if your device can be updated to work with FIT controller or for additional assistance, please reach out to

For this demo, we will be updating the firmware of the EnGenius EWS357 AP version 3 and EWS377 AP version 3. If you would like to test out these devices, send a request to

Update EWS Access Point Firmwares
EnGenius EWS357 V3

The version number of the AP will be written on the back of the device and mentioned in the firmware update screen.
Attached firmware is for device version 3 only.
Unlink from any controller and reset to standalone mode
Before proceeding, Unlink the AP from any existing controller by disabling the controller or resetting the AP to standalone mode. You can reset to standalone mode by logging in to the AP's IP address as shown below:
Updating the Firmware
Log into the AP and go to System Manager -> Firmware - > Choose File and select the firmware linked above.
Click on upload and in the following screen click Proceed to verify and flash the new firmware:
Wait for around 5-10 minutes, for the new firmware to be installed:
Now login and reset the AP for it to work with the FIT controller.
