Collect Logs from NVIDIA QM9700 InfiniBand Switch (Sysdump) - Web GUI

Purpose

This article describes the procedure to collect diagnostic logs (sysdump) from an NVIDIA QM9700 InfiniBand switch. The sysdump file is typically requested by NVIDIA Networking Support for troubleshooting fabric, port, firmware, or stability issues.

Scope

This procedure applies to:

  • NVIDIA QM9700 InfiniBand switches

  • Switches managed via the NVIDIA web-based management interface

  • Scenarios requiring switch-level diagnostics for InfiniBand fabrics

Prerequisites

  • Management IP access to the QM9700 switch

  • Valid administrative credentials

Procedure

Step 1: Log in to the QM9700 Switch

  1. Open a web browser.

  2. Navigate to the switch management URL:

    https://<switch-management-ip>
  3. Log in using administrative credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to the Maintenance Section

  1. After successful login, locate the top or side navigation menu.

  2. Click on Maintenance.

Step 3: To generate a New Sysdump File

  1. In the Sysdump section, click Generate New Sysdump.

  2. Confirm the action when prompted.

  3. Wait for the sysdump generation to complete.

Note: Sysdump generation may take several minutes. Do not close the browser or refresh the page during this process.

Once complete, a new sysdump file will appear in the list with a timestamp.

Step 4: Download the Sysdump File

  1. Locate the newly generated sysdump file in the list.

  2. Click Download.

  3. File will be downloaded to your system

  4. Save the file to a secure location on your local system or login node.

Notes and Best Practices

  • Always generate a new sysdump immediately after the issue occurs, if possible.

  • Do not reuse old sysdump files unless explicitly requested by support.

  • Avoid power cycling or rebooting the switch before collecting the sysdump.

  • Store sysdump files securely, as they may contain sensitive configuration data.
