Backplane Replacement for Supermicro AS-8125GS-TNHR-G1- 8U - HGX-H200

Steps for removal of backplane

  1. Power Down & Disconnect
    1. Use the operating system to power down the system
    2. Disconnect the power cord(s) from the power supply module(s)
  2. Remove Server from Rack (if required)
  3. Removing the Motherboard Tray
    1. Pull down the release handles on each side of the tray, and pull the tray part way out
    2. To fully release the tray, find and depress the small handles on the side of each tray

  4. Remove the air ducts and get the access for backplane.

  5. Disconnect Backplane Cables

  6. Remove Drives (if installed)
  7. Unscrew and Remove Backplane

  8. Reinstallation
To reinstall, reverse the above steps.
Ensure cables are connected exactly as labeled
Verify BIOS/RAID card detection of drives after reinstallation

Safety & Caution

Warning
Always wear an ESD strap when handling internal components.
Do not force connectors or overtighten screws.
Only trained personnel should perform this procedure.
